Have You Ever Seen It Rain?
-Words that is?-
I am coming up on my final day of August NaNoWriMo and I still have about 5,000 words to go. This challenge has been super tough and exhausting. Who knew writing each and everyday can literally exhaust you?
Now that I seem to be closing in on the finish line of NaNoWriMo I am almost 100% certain that the 50,000 words I have almost written will not complete my first draft of the first book. However those 50,000 words will complete about three quarters of the first book and the first two chapters of the second book.
When I first started this project I had a feeling that it would bend up being a trilogy and it has. With that being said I have done some research and found that it’s best to have the first two books ready to go and the first draft of the third book complete prior to release day. So I will carry on and get the first draft of book one complete and then move on to book two.
I also have a second project that I started; which is turning into a really interesting dystopian novel. I love that this second project has a plot firmly in place, so who knows I may end up finishing that one first.
Honestly after losing an entire week of writing, I am relieved that my writing mojo has returned. I am now more than ever determined to cross that 50,000 word finish line. I said from day one that I would not quit on this project, and I am going to stick to that promise. Now to get some words in before bedtime. Happy Friday evening, y’all!

That’s so awesome that you’re sticking to it! So few people know how hard it is to choose just the right words in the right sequence to convey what we see in our minds, especially when what we see only comes in flashes. 50k words in a month is fantastic progress! You should be exceptionally proud of yourself.
Thank you. I appreciate the feedback 🙂
